Salvatore Zisa, 39, of Clifton, was arrested Wednesday afternoon on Fenner Avenue after he was accused of attempting two burglaries in 2015, Detective Sgt. Robert Bracken said.

The first occurred in May 2015 at a Valley Road business. The front window was smashed but no one appeared to enter the business, Bracken said.

The second was in July at another Valley Road business. The front door was pried open and cash and other items were taken from the store, the detective sergeant said.

Zisa ran when officers found him but was arrested soon after, he said. Zisa was charged with resisting arrest and drug offenses, and had warrants for burglary, theft and attempted burglary, Bracken said.

He was held at Passaic County Jail on $50,000 bail.
